BackerKit/Surveys with IMPORTANT news for NON US Backers.

Hello!
Today, you should have received an email from the team at BackerKit, explaining a few things that we have been doing behind the scenes.
USA Backers: If you are one of the 200 US Backers getting the book, it shouldn't be too painful.
INTERNATIONAL BACKERS - please stand by! Recognizing that shipping from the US is exorbitant, we are working behind the scenes on other solutions, such as sending them from Canada instead. Or possibly flying everyone to my house to pick them up. Which might be cheaper.
And the background, for those who want the detail:
If you have been following the updates here, the project switched publishers to Schwalb Entertainment last summer, which led to some changes to the survey you filled in (which was created by the previous publisher, Outland).
- The main rulebook is considerably (57%) larger than originally envisaged (392 pages versus 250 pages).
- Outland Entertainment books are no longer available and have been deleted from the order.
- Shipping fees have been updated: the project is working with Studio 2 Publishing in Knoxville for fulfillment (they handle Schwalb Entertainment's books) and has used their latest 2024 shipping estimates to calculate cost.
- We use USPS Priority Mail International Prices (translated into Canadian dollars to estimate the shipping fee). Because the rulebook plus packaging and airbags is nearly 5 lbs, it may have inadvertently caused Trauma and Shock. As above, we are having a long hard look at other options for Non US backers.
- This is your opportunity to update delivery addresses if you have moved!

Various news from the roots of Yggdrasil:
- I have Backerkit almost fixed with right shipping prices. I just want to have it doublechecked by the warehouse/shippers.
- The printers in China tell me that the books should arrive by early March in the US. Assuming they don't get blown up in the Red Sea. Which would be ironic given that...
- Today, we released Well of Fate, adventure 9 in the Thought & Memory Saga. I enjoyed making this chapter truly "mythic" as well as linking it with scenes from the novels and comics (as Easter Eggs for those that have read them).

- Of course, the gods do play dice with the universe. Which leads me to note that custom dice are in production, with a slight design change. You can see a picture at the end of this update!

Hello!
Hot on the heels of my update yesterday, I thought I'd give you a quick insight into planning and fixes.
Before we go too far, I wanted to thank our friends at the RPG Academy for this great A+ review of the game. It's well worth a read and a listen! I have it on repeat.
Now, you might remember that somewhere between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and therise of the sons of Aryas, there was a Backerkit survey sent out by my former publisher. I'm now driving the process directly, and am in touch with the Customer Success Team at Backerkit: we need to make some adjustments before we lock down.
One of the key things we have discussed is that, since the main rulebook is considerably heavier than first envisaged, it is important that no one be surprised when we charge cards. Backerkit staff will be sending an email to you to get you to check your surveys and to verify if the price is okay or if you need to make adjustments to your survey as a result.
Now, in case you are wondering if the meatiness is worth it, I think I might have mentioned there is a great A+ review over at the RPG Academy. Frankly, I mention it at the drop of a helmet.
A second issue is that can no longer deliver Outland Entertainment books. We'll work out a fix for that on an individual basis. If you are missing out, head over to their store direct - they have a bunch of talented authors and creators, including some great Viking material from my pals Josh Gillingham and Jordan Stratford.

Hello and Happy 2024!
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring...except for our printers in China who sent me this:
The shipping forwarder picked them up on December 28th and they are headed to the Studio 2 Warehouse in the United States as I write. I waited a beat before sending this update because, well, 2023 was a loooong year and I had a modicum of a break.
As a reminder, following the change of publisher last year, I have to redo the Backerkit and get that out to you all ASAP. Watch the skies!

Hello!
Here are some bits and bobs of news:
1. Having received and approved the print sample, the presses started bulk printing last week.
2. I have just received shipping prices from the warehouse so will fixing up Backerkit ASAP.
3. We released a lite version of the PDF, for those using the rules on tablets. Check your Schwalb Entertainment email from earlier today (or Drive Thru RPG library) for details.
4. We've set up a Mead Hall over on the Schwalb Entertainment Discord. Feel free to stop and chat or ask questions.
5. Our chums at Ra Press have started a play by post game of Nobody Dies in Hjalpmakaar that you can check out (also on Discord) It's really quite fun to see the saga unfurl.
6. Space Vikings earned a Silver medallion shortly after release on Drive Thru RPG, so thanks for your continued support and for spreading the word. There will be more in the New Year with the release of Adventure 9: The Well of Fate!

8. And because it is the season, here is a festive video I made at the dawn of the Vikingverse. Next year, I'll make sure it is ready as a one-shot!
